AR Rahman, the maestro of music, marked his 57th birthday on Saturday, January 6. Fans and celebrity friends extended heartfelt wishes to the renowned music composer on this special occasion.
Today, January 6, marks the birthday of the celebrated music composer, AR Rahman. The Mozart of Madras received warm wishes from numerous fans and celebrities on this special day.
When AR Rahman clinched not one but two Oscars for the song "Jai Ho" and the original score of Slumdog Millionaire in 2009, Tamilians were overjoyed. The maestro further brought pride to the state of Tamil Nadu by addressing the audience in his mother tongue on the grandest stage. The phrase "Ella Pugazhum Iraivanukae (All praise is for the lord)" became a widely embraced expression in Tamil and still holds its significance. However, as the excitement settled, there arose a collective pondering on whether "Jai Ho," among Rahman's many brilliant compositions, truly deserved the highly coveted accolade. Interestingly, even Rahman's most devoted fans found themselves less enamored with the album. Surprisingly, the composer himself harbors the same uncertainty, as revealed during a felicitation ceremony held for him in Chennai after his historic Oscar wins.
